About Sonic Car Wash

Located at 500 Burdeck St, Schenectady, NY 12306, Sonic Car Wash operates as a car wash serving Schenectady in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In Schenectady, washes are busiest on sunny weekends and the first dry day after rain or a snowstorm, when lines back onto the street; weekday mornings are the quietest. Across New York, expect a basic exterior wash to cost about what a fast-food meal does, with wax, tire shine and undercarriage rinse sold as tiers above it. Self-service bays are the cheapest way to clean a truck bed, a muddy off-roader or a vehicle that will not fit a tunnel, and many run around the clock. Check the listing for the wash type, hours, free vacuums, unlimited plans and whether the site accepts cards or app payments, then call ahead in freezing weather, when tunnels close.

No hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times. You can reach Sonic Car Wash at (518) 831-9100; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

Its Google rating is 3.6 out of 5 from 125 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Schenectady is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Schenectady is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

There’s no free vacuums and the vacuums only take cash also it’s $2.00 for only 4 minutes it is open 24/7

The quality of the car wash is average at best and the vaccuums are a scam. The first vaccuum I tried was broken and took money from me. Tried another one and the price is advertised as $1.25 for 4 minutes. When I put in $1.25, it then asked for another 75 cents. I had to do one more round and that time it raised the price to $2.50. Pretty ridiculous to be scamming people that way. I won't be returning.

No touch car wash with several payment options. Since my car was really dirty, I went for the most expensive selection this time. Not sure if the hot wax was applied, but it did do a decent job, plus the blow dryers did dry the car nicely. Sonic seems more affordable than other similar car washes in the area, so I take the extra trip here.

It's a convenient location but everytime it doesn't really clean my car. I've been to other locations of the same company that do a much better job. It seems like the equipment needs to be serviced or replaced. Will not go back until something is fixed.

Car is dirtier after washing than before. I had to go get it washed again at a different place. Save your money and go somewhere else.
